Obituary - Kenneth Rennison

Kenneth Lee Rennison, 79, Adrian, MO, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Adrian. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 100 South Mulberry, Adrian, MO 64720.

Kenneth was raised in the Kansas City area, where he lived much of his life. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the age of twelve. Kenneth was a member of the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and held the rank of Staff Sergeant when discharged. He worked at Sheffield Steel in Kansas City until moving to Camdenton, MO in 1963, where he worked in construction for many years with his father, building many beautiful homes and businesses. Other occupations included twelve years as Deputy Sheriff for the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, owner/operator of a Conoco station in Camdenton, an EMT and ambulance driver and a volunteer firefighter in Camden County.

Kenneth retired in 1992 and moved to Florida, where he owned a bait shop on the Myaka River, near North Port, FL. He returned to Adrian in 2003, where he was currently living with his wife, Linda Rennison. He was employed by the Family Center in Harrisonville, MO. He had many interests including collecting train memorabilia, coins, stamps and woodworking. He was very patriotic and proud to be an American.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lee David Rennison and a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Renee Eairheart. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Edwards; his son, Jeff Rennison; his daughter and her husband, David and Lori Eairheart; and his son and his wife, David and Heather Edwards; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
