GETTING AHEAD IN A JUST GETTING BY WORLD

The West Central Missouri Community Action Agency “ Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-by World”, Workshops , will kick off May 28th. The workshops are designed to build resources for a better life. Getting ahead helps people in poverty investigate the impact of poverty on their communities and themselves. The Getting Ahead investigations prepare people to participate in the transformation of their communities and result in concrete individual plans to build resources.
The workshops will be held at the Community First Bank on Fort Schott Street in Butler with the first class to be held May 28th. To those that have pre-registered, a light meal will be served at the beginning of class. Class time begins at 5 pm and will be dismissed at 8 pm.
The aim of the workshop is to provide a safe, agenda-free learning environment where adults can reflect on and examine their lives, investigate new information that is relevant to them, assess their own resources, make plans for their own future stories, offer ideas for building a prosperous community and choose a team to help them fulfill their dreams.
