Pittsburg Kansas Police: Arrests Made in Gorilla Theft


Pittsburg, KS -  On Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 2:42 a.m. an officer observed a truck traveling at a high rate of speed northbound, in the west alley of the 2100-2300 blocks of N. Broadway. A vehicle stop was conducted on the 2009 Dodge 2500 flatbed truck and three male occupants were located.
The vehicle stop led to the discovery of seven small concrete gorillas being located inside the cab and bed of the truck. They were determined to have been stolen earlier that night from In the Garden, 719 S. Broadway.
The stolen gorillas, which varied in size, were returned to In the Garden management and the three Oklahoma males were arrested for Burglary, Theft and Criminal Damage
