Milo woman injured why trying to avoid police chase

A Milo woman escaped serious injury in a one vehicle accident Monday night in Vernon County. 

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 8:20 P.M. Monday night on Route K, around 6 miles East of Nevada when a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 53 year old Shelly Ward. 

Ward was traveling Westbound when she left the roadway, to avoid a vehicle that was engaged in a pursuit, and traveled into a ditch. Ward was listed with minor injuries and transported by private vehicle to seek treatment on her own.

Mid America Live contacted the Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher and he said " The chase happened in the Southwest part of the county. One person in custody and a Vernon County Deputy sustained minor injuries when his vehicle hit the fleeing car".
