Nevada man escapes serious injury in Jasper County accident

A Nevada man escaped serious injury in a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Jasper County. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 12:50 P.M. Thursday afternoon on Highway 43, 1/4th of a mile North of Joplin, in Jasper County, involving a 2011 Chrysler 200 driven by 27 year old Alonzo Winningham. 

The Missouri State Highway patrol says the accident occurred when Winningham was traveling Eastbound when he fail to yield and pulled into the path, and was struck by a 2007 Toyota Solara driven by 70 year old Viola Haag, of Carl Junction. Winningham was listed with minor injuries and transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Haag was listed with minor injuries and transported to Free West Hospital in Joplin. 

A passenger in Haag's vehicle, 47 year old Jill Corbaley, of Alba, was listed with minor injuries and transported by private vehicle to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
