Vernon County Sheriffs Office looking for wanted person: theft from vehicles‏

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted subject after a search warrant was served on the 800 block of South Cedar in Nevada early Tuesday morning. According to a press release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest warrant for Gabriel Goss, 34 of Nevada, had already been issued following an investigation of theft from an auto in rural Vernon County involving an Apple iPad that was recovered by the Nevada Police Department.



According to the press release, Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant Tuesday in an attempt to locate Goss and recovered what is believed to be methamphetamine's, drug paraphernalia, as well as items stolen from vehicles from around the county including the City of Nevada. Detectives with the Nevada Police Department were contacted and stolen items from within Nevada City limits were turned over to them for investigation. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said investigators from both agencies had been working together on cases of thefts from auto. The Sheriff said he expects additional charges to be filed from both agencies. Goss is currently at large and is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office.
