Police still searching for Clinton Man Wanted on Multiple Felony Warrants

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the search for a Clinton man wanted for multiple felony warrants in St. Clair County. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for 33 year old Joseph Daugherty, of Clinton. Daugherty is charged with a class A felony of kidnapping, a class B felony of burglary in the first degree, and a class D felony of resisting arrest by fleeing. The charges stem from an early morning incident last Tuesday.

Officials say, St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on E Highway, in reference to a domestic assault in progress. Reports indicate, as deputies were responding to the scene, new information as received that Daugherty had left the residence in a vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle, however Daugherty was able to elude deputies. At the scene, it was reported to deputies, that Daugherty was an ex-live-in-boyfriend of a female living at the residence, of which he allegedly entered, carrying a hand gun, threatening to shoot the family members, and attempted to abduct a female.

Additional charges are pending on Daugherty following an incident on Friday, in which a St. Clair County deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle on E Highway. The vehicle was able to elude deputies and ended up in a motor vehicle accident on Southwest 101 Road, before the driver fled into the woods. Evidence was located inside the vehicle that identified Daugherty as the driver of the vehicle.
