Resurfacing Project on Missouri Route 18 Between Adrian and Merwin to Begin Week of July 6

Bates County - Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on Missouri Route 18 in Bates County for a resurfacing project beginning the week July 6, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will resurface approximately 13 miles of Route 18 between I-49 at Adrian and Merwin to the west.

Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone. Drivers should obey flaggers and wait for pilot cars to guide them through the work zone.

The speed limit on Route 18 will be reduced to 45 mph during the project.

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.

This project is part of the resurfacing of I-49 currently underway in Bates and Vernon counties.
