Missing Drexel man found dead in automobile accident

Around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol with assistance from the Bates County Sheriffs Office and Drexel Police Department responded to a 1 vehicle accident on 18 Highway around 10 miles West of Adrian.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as the 2002 Saturn driven by 72 year old Charles H. Brady of Drexel, Missouri was West bound on Missouri 18 Highway when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and down a embankment. The vehicle then became airborne and struck the opposite side of the embankment before coming to a rest in a creek.


Mr. Brady was pronounced dead at the scene by Bates County Corner Gary Schowengerdt at 16:30 Hours. He was transported to The Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Mo.


Mr. Brady had been reported missing from the Drexel area for the last couple weeks this is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol 21st Fatality accident of the year.
