Parole violator arrested, drugs seized near Nevada school

Drugs were seized and a wanted fugitive was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a residence across the street from a school according to a press release issued by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office. Danny J Devore, 43 of Nevada, a wanted parole absconder was arrested on the 600

block of North Adams Street Wednesday afternoon shortly after deputies surrounded the house. During the incident, 15 bags of methamphetamines were seized. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said his office made the case a priority because it was so close to a school. “We always have drug investigations underway, but when we get reports that it’s across from a school, we focus our attention on that”, said Mosher.

The Sheriff said they had received information from the public along with intelligence gathered from the CNET Drug Task Force to locate Devore and the drugs that were in the house. Sheriff Mosher said his office will be preparing charges for the recovered drugs. Devore is currently being held in the Vernon County Jail.
