Neila Jean Sykes, 67, of Cleveland, Missouri passed away January 7, 2016. Cremation, with a graveside service scheduled on July 3, 2016 in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. A memorial picnic will follow services. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the KC Pet Project. She was a 1967 Ruskin High School Graduate and was united in marriage to Michael Sykes on February 7, 1970 in Kansas CIty, Missouri. Neila Jean enjoyed camping, crafting, gardening, horseback riding, bowling and roller skating. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and spoiling her puppies. She was preceded in death by her Mother Elizabeth Reynolds; Father Neil Reynolds; Sister Linda Hummer; Daughter Breeona Gilmore; Brother-in-laws John Kretchmer and Roger Hummer and Father-in-law John F Sykes. Survivors include her husband Michael Sykes of 46 years; Son Kevin Sykes and wife Elizabeth of Mineral Wells, Texas. 4 grandchildren; Ashley Gilmore, Hunter Gilmore, Lucia Sykes and Abbygail Mathewson; Sister Joan Kretchmer ; Mother-in-Law Veda Wolf; Step-Mother Geraldine Sykes.
