Appleton City man arrested in St. Clair County

Zachary Dewey
On July 7, Zachary Dewey, 27, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony burglary-second degree. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The charge stems from an investigation on May 18 when a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Richard Foster in reference to a burglary at the Appleton City storage units located at the corner of Third and Popular. Foster reported several items missing including a black, refinished trunk containing dishes, photo albums, knives, watches, and the ashes of his deceased family member.

During the investigation several items identified as taken from the storage unit were located at Dewey’s former residence on West Second Street, Appleton City, and at his new residence on West Hightower Street, El Dorado Springs.
