Kansas City woman escapes serious injury after her vehicle strikes deer in Bates County

Around 9:40am last night the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with the Bates County Sheriffs Office and Rich Hill Police responded to a one vehicle accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around Mile Marker 126.8 North of Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2015 Ford Focus driven by 49 year old Cassandra L. Irvine of Kansas City, Missouri struck a deer that was in the roadway.

Cassandra L. Irvine sustained minor injuries in this accident but she refused medical treatment at the scene of the accident.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Douty's Tow of Butler.
