Ted Leroy Malone, 77, passed away on August 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born to Duen and Mary Malone on September 3, 1938 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the youngest of five children. While attending Miami High School, he played on the basketball team and was a member of the glee club. In 1956 he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Warren, and the couple had three daughters. Ted attended Finley Engineering School and spent the majority of his career with Honeywell Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri.

After retiring in 1993, Ted became a volunteer fire fighter for the Amoret Fire Department, and enjoyed playing music, fishing, going to auctions, and spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and pets. There was never a time in Ted’s life when there wasn’t a treasured dog or two by his side. Ted’s love of animals was second only to his love for his family.

Ted is survived by his wife Jean, siblings Gladys Vance and Jack Malone (Barbara), daughters Rebecca (Allen), Molly, and Jan (Craig), seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, and dogs Toby and Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents Duen and Mary, and brothers Kenneth and Lloyd.
