Stockton man held without bond after being charged with multiple sex crimes

Walt Meeker
A Stockton business owner charged with multiple counts of statutory sodomy, child molestation and incest is being held without bond at the Cedar County Jail.

Walt Meeker, 66, owner of Walt’s Archery and Gun, was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 9, on the charges; however, a probable cause statement is not yet available because the investigation is ongoing. Cedar County Prosecuting Attorney Ty Gaither said it’s possible more charges will be filed.

The complaint Gaither filed alleges Meeker committed several sex crimes between Jan. 1, 2012 and Aug. 1, 2016, including two counts of first-degree felony statutory sodomy against a child younger than 14; one count of first-degree felony child molestation against a child younger than 14; and three counts of felony incest.

No hearing has been scheduled for the case.
