Josephine Mary Johnson, age 96, Mound City, Kansas passed away on
Tuesday, October 4, 2016. She was born on July 13, 1920 at Blue Mound,
Kansas the daughter of Fred M. and Mary C. Hollis Smith. She married
Thomas "Buck" Johnson on August 2, 1941. He preceded her in death on
March 26, 1998. Josephine was a hard worker. She mowed yards, painted,
cleaned houses and helped run the family fireworks stand. She was also
preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Smith.
Josephine is survived by two sons, Thomas Leroy Johnson and wife
Roberta, and Donnie Johnson and wife Vickie, a daughter, Joan Stewart
and husband Loren, two sisters, Anna Mae Carrol and Betty Fyock, ten
grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Schneider Mound City Chapel. Burial in the Curry Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 pm Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Mercy Hospice.
