Louise Mae Wagenblast, 90, Peculiar, Missouri, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the West Union Cemetery in Cleveland, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church Elevator Fund, P.O. Box 325, Peculiar, MO 64078.

Louise was born April 17, 1926 in Peculiar, Missouri, the daughter of William John and Emma Venita (Knudsen) Dahm. She was a 1943 graduate of Peculiar High School and received her Master’s in Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. Louise taught school for 38 years, starting at Centerview Rural School #69 in 1943. She also taught at West Line and Cleveland schools, before retiring in 1981 from Raymore-Peculiar School District.

Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar and was a member and past Worth Matron of the Elizabeth Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Belton, Missouri. She was a life-long resident of Peculiar.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilbur on December 18, 2012, and her grandson, Cpt. Christopher Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Woolery and Margaret Johnson, both of Peculiar, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Arnold of Orrick, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
