Coming this summer: The darkest day in decades

Like something from a sci-fi novel, the "midst of day turns to the darkest of night in a heartbeat"

Or so it will seem. In a matter of seconds a shadow will be cast from a solar eclipse unlike any other since 1979, on August 21st of this year.

We here in the midwest will get a good view, too. The track of the eclipse will take it pretty much directly over the Kansas City area, and depending on your location, will last several minutes.

Even if you're not directly in it's path, skies will darken significantly no matter where you're at in the United States.
