The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Dodge Durango driven by 73 year old Ronald R. Scherzberg of Lincoln, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a large tree.
Mr. Scherzberg was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Henry County Coroner Dain Sisk at 5:39pm.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Golden Valley Wrecker Service.
