(BUTLER, MO—June 12, 2017)—Nine 4-H young ladies modeled their sewing creations during the annual Bates County 4-H Fashion Review and Show held on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the First Christian Church in Butler, Missouri. “Walking the Red Carpet” was their theme for the evening with Shannon Crawford and Carla Armentrout serving as the chairpersons for the event.

Winners in the event will advance to compete at the State Fashion Review at Memorial Union, University of Missouri—Columbia campus, on October 7, 2017, according to Bates County 4-H Youth Program Associate Robyn Eckhoff.

The State qualifier in the Clothes You Buy category, senior division, is Shaylee Terry of County Line 4-H. In the Clothes You Make, junior division, Kaylee O’Farrell of the Hudson Hustlers received top honors. In the intermediate division, Emma McIntire, Hudson Hustlers 4-H, will represent Bates County. Aubry Terry of Countyline 4-H will take the runway for the senior division. Aubry also won the Clothes You Knit/Crochet category; however because she qualified in two categories and can only compete in one at the State Fashion Revue, Alexis O’Farrell, first alternate, will advance to the state competition.

Other blue ribbon winners participating included Sydney Gach, Olivia Engeman, Shelby Gach and Reagan O'Farrell.

The participants also made t-shirt dog toys for the House of Hound in Butler, Missouri, as their community service project.
