The training was MC-306 Tanker Rollover class. Participants trained in actions that would be taken in the event of a tank truck incident involving an MC-306, which would be a tanker transporting motor fuels, such as gasoline and diesel fuel.

The training was funded through the Missouri Emergency Response Commission, and was conducted under contract by Local Emergency Training Specialists, LLC.

Among other topics, participants learned air monitoring, foam application, cold tapping, plugging and patching, and incident command. A tank prop provided by the trainer was utilized for hands-on experience.

Personnel from Butler Fire, Clinton Fire, Montrose Fire, Rockville Fire, Belton Fire, Dolan-West Dolan Fire Protection District, and Sac Osage Fire Protection District attended.

The Bates County Emergency Planning Committee is made up of various entities to include fire, law enforcement, emergency management, health professionals, industry, and the general public, among others, who are tasked with planning for chemical incidents that may occur in the county.
