Four injured in Henry County crash

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on June 18th in Henry County on Highway 7 at County Road SE 1001.

The accident occurred as Zane L. Elwell, 16, Windsor, not wearing a seat belt, northbound in a 2003 Mazda B-2300, and Leland E. Maxwell, 91, Clinton, wearing a seat belt, southbound in a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500, approaching a hillcrest. Maxwell attempted to make a left turn onto County Road SE 1001. His vehicle was struck on its side by the Elwell vehicle. After collision, the Maxwell vehicle overturned, struck a stop sign, and came to a rest on its wheels.

Zane L. Elwell experienced minor injuries and was treated at the scene. His vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Jay’s Towing.

Two passengers in the Elwell vehicle were injured:

Jocelyn Rold, 20, Windsor, not wearing a seat belt, experienced moderate injuries and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance to the Western Missouri Medical Center.

Charick J. Taylor, 14, Windsor, wearing a seat belt, experienced minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Golden Valley Hospital.

Leland E. Maxwell experienced moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Golden Valley Hospital. His vehicle had extensive damage and was removed from the scene by Golden Valley Wrecker.
