From the desk of Vicky Hartzler

Vicky Hartzler
After the tragic shooting at Congressional baseball practice Wednesday morning, central Missouri Rep. Vicky Hartzler released the following statement on her Facebook Page:

My fervent prayers are with Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Congressional staffer Zachary Barth, former staffer Matt Mika, as well as David Bailey and Krystal Griner, the two officers who were injured this morning in the shooting at the Republican baseball team practice.

“I want to thank the brave Capitol Police Officers who ran toward the danger and took courageous steps to make sure that others were safe. Without their bravery, a greater tragedy could have occurred. Their courage is commendable and inspires all of us to live for others. I feel confident that this attacker will not stifle the American spirit or stop the important work we are doing here in D.C.

“We as Missourians and Americans are strong, and we will get through this tragedy without succumbing to fear. I appreciate all the concern and support from everyone across Missouri’s Fourth District at the news of this incident. It’s an honor to represent you. Please continue to pray for those injured and their families.
