Hume Community News 6/27/17

The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathies to the family of Tom Rees. Tom was a 1976 graduate of Hume High School. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

On June 16th, 17th and 18th Ruth and Steve Spencer hosted a Spencer reunion with a total of 101 attending. Descendants from Luther (L.H.), Fern, Lester (Bud) and Jim were present.

Families came from Seattle and Centralia, WA. Salem, Corvallis and Winchester OR., Quantico, VA., Oxford, MI., South Dakota, Las Vegas, Nevada,, Littleton, Co., Joplin, Union Star, Excelsior Springs, Clay Como, Savannah, Halena, Sheldon, Rich Hill, and Hume, MO., Mound City & Pleasanton, KS.

Everyone enjoyed reminiscing, eating, a hayride, swimming, target practice and more. The last Spencer reunion was 15 years ago in June of 2002.

Isaac Irwin celebrated his 9th birthday on June 20 with a swim party at the Country Club in Nevada. Family and friends enjoyed swimming, pizza, snacks and cookies.

Kenzee Snider celebrated her 9th birthday this past weekend with a trip to Sky Zone on Saturday evening with family and friends and then a swim party at her Papa Eddie’s and Grandma Kit’s in Adrian on Sunday with pizza and cake. Kenzee turned 9 on June 19th.

The O5O club will have their carry-in dinner on Monday, July 3 at the Hume Community Center. All are invited.

The Hume Fair is right around the corner and we will be selling T-shirts to celebrate the 75th Annual Hume Fair and Rodeo. We are busy working on the arena and will be working Saturdays if anyone wants to come and help.
