Dorothy was born at the Leonard home in Blackjack, MO, the 4th out of 9 children. She was married to Bernard Moore on June 6, 1951. In 1948, at the age of 16, she started employment at the Shoe Factory and worked there until it closed. From 1985 till 1996 she worked at the State Hospital in Nevada. Later she drove cars for different dealers in El Dorado Springs until 2009.

On June 6, 1951, Dorothy married Bernard Moore. To this union two children were born: Randy Moore and Kenny Moore. Dorothy loved her husband of 53 years. She was a kind hearted woman who would have helped anyone in need. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She made sure she taught her children to put others first and treat others with respect and kindness. She missed her husband Bernard and grandson Chad very much.

Dorothy was an excellent chef, quilter, and gardener. She loved to go out in her garden even if it was 100 degrees outside. She was a model to her family and friends. She showed us that we could be who we were and still be loved and cared for.

Dorothy would spend every Sunday at noon with her son Randy, eating Sunday lunch. She loved going with her sisters to Branson where they would spend time together trying not to get into any trouble. She had a long happy life with another adventure around every corner. Bernard and Dorothy were avid travelers, and visited every state.
