Obituary - Doris Helen Prothe

Doris Helen Prothe, age 95, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Friday June 2, 2017. She was born on September 2, 1921 the daughter of Lloyd and Alice Eckhart Jenkins. She graduated from high school and attended nursing school. She married Kenneth Prothe on May 23, 1944 at Los Angeles, California. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1992. 

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Martin and a brother Paul Jenkins. Doris worked as the director of the Pleasanton Housing Authority for many years. She was a member of the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, and the VFW Auxiliary. 

Doris is survived by her daughter Penny Johnson and husband Steve, two grandsons, Kenny Johnson and Meredith and their children Bryce and Neyla, and John Johnson and Christy and children Brianna and Aly.

Private Graveside was held 2 pm Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Pleasanton Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church.
