Obituary - Nathan Henry “Hank” Allinson

Nathan Henry “Hank” Allinson, age 76, formerly of El Dorado Springs, MO, departed this life on May 30, 2017, at Medicalodge in Butler, MO. He was born May 20, 1941, in Appleton City, MO, to Daniel Clinton Allinson and Sara “Orlena” (Hamby) Allinson. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army. 

Hank’s passions were driving fast cars, which began in 1963, on both circle tracks, where he was nicknamed “High Henry”, and at the drag strip. In December, 2015, he was inducted into the Ozarks Area Racers Foundation Hall of Fame in the “Legends” category. Hank’s other passion was flying and fixing model airplanes. He would much rather fly them, but it came with the territory.

Preceding Hank in death were: his mother, Sara “Orlena” (Hamby) Allinson; father, Daniel Clinton Allinson, Jr.; sister, Carolyn “Sue” (Allinson) Cook; sister, Margaret Anne (Allinson) Barger; and brother-in-law, David Lee Barger.

Survivors include his step-mother, Allene Allinson; brother-in-law, Pete Cook and Linda; four nieces and two nephews: Toni (Barger) McElwain and husband Jon, Bobbi (Barger) Quick and husband Daniel, Brenda (Bourland) Smythers and husband Greg, Rick Bourland, and Travis Cook.

A memorial service for Hank Allinson will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Don Barger officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Taberville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
