From the city of Harrisonville

Representatives from the City of Harrisonville are coordinating with Vance Brothers Construction in preparation for this summer’s road re-surfacing program.

According to street superintendent Rodney Jacobs, the work is currently set to begin July 17, and should take about a week to complete, weather permitting.

Major thoroughfares affected are portions of South Street and Independence Street, which are set to receive a micro-surfacing treatment. Slurry seal will be applied to 11 others, including Matt Street, Leah, Amy, Andrea, and Meghan Lanes, Horizon Avenue, Duncan Circle, Brookridge Drive, Osage Street, Pheasant Road, and Meadowlark Drive.

The Community Center parking lot will also be re-surfaced with a slurry seal treatment during this time.
The city will work closely with Vance Brothers to keep residents informed of progress on the re-surfacing.

Door hangers will be used to notify residents that work will begin on their street in 24 hours. Also, streets will be closed during the day to allow work to proceed quickly, efficiently and for the safety of workers.

There will be access at all times in case of emergency, but we recommend motorists avoid the construction area.
