Obituary - Lana Juanita Cooper

Lana Juanita Cooper
Lana Juanita Cooper, 86, of Pittsburg, Kansas, formerly of Sheldon, Missouri, died at 9:02 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at Medicalodges Frontenac. 

Mrs. Cooper was born June 7, 1931 at Kirksville, Missouri the daughter of Hugh D. and Gladys Christelle Greenstreet Upton. She was a retired Post Mistress who had worked in Iantha, Sheldon, and Mindenmines, Missouri. She was raised in Sheldon, Missouri and graduated from Sheldon High School. 

She lived in Sheldon prior to moving to Pittsburg in 1982. She enjoyed singing on Fridays at the nursing home. She was a member of the Postal Union. 

Survivors include two daughters, Terry Elrod and her husband Doug of Pittsburg and Billie Platner and her husband Shawn of Webb City, Missouri, a son, Jim Cooper and his wife Teresa of Lamar, Missouri, a sister, Carol Lewallen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike Upton.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Sheldon Cemetery at Sheldon, Missouri with J.T. Knoll giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the cemetery prior to the services.
