Police warn of possible phone scam

We have recently been made aware of a possible phone scam involving Medicare information. The phone caller is requesting personal information including personal identifiers and Medicare numbers.

We would like to remind people to only give information to trusted sources. Health Insurance companies normally communicate by mail or in some cases electronic correspondence.

If you are being called by a company regarding your services they should already have all your information, there should be no need for you to provide it to them. If you are doubt take a phone number and call them back.

If you feel that you have been a victim of a Medicare scam you should notify Medicare at stopmedicarefraud.gov or by calling 800.633.4227
