Search warrant served in Lamar


On Thursday June 29th 2017 Law Enforcement executed a search Warrant at a home at 1705 Cherry in Lamar for illegal drugs.  The Barton County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and obtained enough information to apply for a search warrant for the home and property.  Sheriff Shaw asked for assistance from the Jasper County Swat team who responded from Carthage to secure the property.  

The Barton County Sheriffs deputies, Lamar Police Department Officers and the ODET drug task force agents assisted in the search for illegal drugs at the property.  At the time of the execution of the search warrant one subject a 56 year of age white male fled from the home but was taken into custody hiding underneath a white f150 truck in the area by Barton County Deputies. 

 At the conclusion of the search evidence (illegal drugs and paraphernalia) was taken from the property.  The investigation is ongoing and other suspects are being sought in this case.
