Street Resurfacing in Harrisonville

Street Superintendent Rodney Jacobs from the City of Harrisonville is coordinating with Vance Brothers Construction in preparation for this summer’s road re-surfacing program.

According to Jacobs, the work is currently set to begin July 17, and should take about a week to complete, weather permitting.

Major thoroughfares affected are portions of South Street and Independence Street, which are set to receive a micro-surfacing treatment. Slurry seal will be applied to 11 others, including Matt Street, Leah, Amy, Andrea, and Meghan Lanes, Horizon Avenue, Duncan Circle, Brookridge Drive, Osage Street, Pheasant Road, and Meadowlark Drive. The Community Center parking lot will also be re-surfaced with a slurry seal treatment during this time.

The city will work closely with Vance Brothers to keep residents informed of progress on the re-surfacing. Door hangers will be used to notify residents that work will begin on their street in 24 hours. Also, streets will be closed during the day for the safety of workers and to allow work to proceed quickly and efficiently. There will be access at all times in case of emergency, but the city recommends motorists avoid the construction area.
