Two facing felony charges for attempting to bring drugs into the St. Clair County Jail

On July 13, Oleyesa Tiegs, 25, Joplin, and Lisa Benton, 35, Belton, were arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging them with class C felony delivery of controlled substance, class D felony delivery of a controlled substance to a county jail, and class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety in each case.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force investigation on July 11. Tiegs and Benton were scheduled to visit different inmates and deliver MP3 players to them.

During the investigation narcotics were found concealed inside the MP3 players that were attempting to be delivered as well as on their person. Osceola Police Department assisted with the case.
