34th Annual National Night Out a success in Nevada

On Tuesday, August 1st, the residents of Nevada joined forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “34th Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out, which is co-sponsored locally by the Nevada Police Department and the Nevada Parks & Recreation Department, involves over 16,728 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.

In all, over 38.3 million people were expected to participate in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’.

In Nevada, we hosted a swim party at the Walton Aquatic Center. The evening began with Mayor Brian Leonard presenting Chief Casey Crain with a Proclamation for the 2017 National Night Out and Wes Morton singing our National Anthem.
