Breaking News Update: Suspect in Custody in Henry County Manhunt Over

The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with several law enforcement agencies have taken 39 year old Ian McCarthy of Clinton into custody at this time.

Mr. McCarthy is accused of killing Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael on Sunday evening around 10:45pm.

Henry County Prosecutors have already charged McCarthy with 1st Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action.

The manhunt for McCarthy has been ongoing since Sunday night and has stretched as far as Chilhowee, Missouri earlier today. 

Around 6:15pm tonight Mr. McCarthy who wasn't armed at the time and was arrested walking down U Highway around 1 mile South of Bucksaw Marina.

He was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Kansas City for treatment of a gunshot wound and he is in stable condition.

The community of Clinton can rest a little safer this evening knowing that this guy is off the streets.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the investigation is still open and is pending at this time.
