Update: Police in Clinton have building surrounded at this time

After a day long manhunt the Clinton Police Department along with Missouri State Highway Patrol and several sheriff's deputies have the old Franklin High School building surrounded around the area of Jefferson Street and North Orchard in Clinton at this time.

All that we are being told now is this has something to do with the officer involved shooting that occurred earlier.

Early today Henry County Prosecutor filed a 1st Degree Murder charge against 39 year old Ian McCarthy of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. McCarthy shot and killed Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael around 10:45pm last night after a traffic stop in Clinton.
