Robert M. Garrett Jr., age 79 years of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2 pm at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Vansant Road Cemetery. Robert M. Garrett Jr. was born July 18, 1938 to Robert and Elizabeth Bramell Garrett in Clinton, Mo. He was married to Carolyn McKeaigg on September 27, 1963.
He was a graduate of Clinton High School. He was a was a member of the LaDue Christian Church where he was deacon and served as the Church treasurer.
Junior served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. After returning to Clinton he was a self-employed carpet layer for over 40 years. He loved to hunt and fish, work in his garden and with his flowers.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn, a sister Margaret Allee, one brother Paul Garrett, one aunt Nadine Johansen, two cousins David and Dale Johansen and a host of nieces and nephews and family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and a sister, Kay Downing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LaDue Cemetery or to the Vansant Road Cemetery.
