From the City of Harrisonville

Harrisonville residents can expect to begin receiving new trash carts soon from Municipal Waste Services.

Each home will be provided with a 96-gallon cart with a black lid for household trash and a 64-gallon cart with a blue lid for recyclables. Please do not start using them until after January 1.

For more information on the new trash services, check out our brochure on the website. http://ci.harrisonville.mo.us/index.aspx?NID=1033

When the city's new contract with Municipal Waste Services goes into effect on January 1, residents will have access to weekly trash collection, curbside recycling, seasonal (April 1 - November 30) yard waste collection, and bulky item pick-up. Generally speaking, trash will be picked up Monday through Thursday and most people will have the same collection day that they have now.

One thing to remember: MWS observes certain national holidays , so you will not have trash service on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas. In those instances, collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

For more information, you can find a new brochure on the city website.http://ci.harrisonville.mo.us/DocumentCenter/View/6109
