Sorry, it wasn't Santa...

Saturday night just after 8:30 pm, many folks around the area noticed strange flashing red lights in the sky. Face book lit up, text messages were sent by the thousands- what the heck is that?

The whole event, lasting about about 10 minutes as a 'stack' of red and flashing strobe lights appeared over the eastern horizon and moving very slowly, together.

As time elapsed, the 'stack', due to the angle of viewing, transformed to a staggered line as the objects moved directly overhead. Speculation was that it was some time of military formation with about 13 (the count is questioned) of the objects. Also, as they passed overhead it became obvious the sound produced was from jet aircraft.

Sorry, no Santa and reindeer. No UFO's.

It has been confirmed that it was indeed military. In fact, it was a string of C17 cargo aircraft making a jaunt from the east coast to just beyond Denver, Colorado.

Other sources say this actually happens on a somewhat regular basis, however the flight path varies, taking the caravan usually through a more northern route.
