Obituary - Alice Mae Adams

Alice Mae Adams, age 94, La Cygne, Kansas passed Tuesday, February 18, 2018. She was born on August 9, 1923 at Taylor Springs, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Lena Hays Ernest. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. She married Drue Wilkes who preceded her in death. She then married Gene Smith. Alice cared for Gene''s children and other family as her own.

Gene also preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Adams who too preceded her in death. She was a very active member and served in several capacities at the New Life Baptist Church in La Cygne. She volunteered with hospice. Her grandkids were very special to her. 

She enjoyed quilting and everyone of her grandchildren have at least one of her quilts. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl Pulver and Clarence Ernest, and a son in law Rex Hale. Alice is survived by a son, Drue Wilkes and wife Sharon, three daughters: Barbara Hale, Linida Roberts and husband Kevin, and Joyce Baker and husband Dave, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Funeral service 2 pm Friday, February 23 at the New Life Baptist, La Cygne. Burial in Trading Post Cemetery. Visitation 1 pm to service at church.
