Alice was raised in Murphysboro and graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1955. Following high school she worked for Western Union for a time in the Chicago area. Alice was a military wife and lived in various places before settling in Nevada in 1970. She worked for a number of years for Praiswater Brothers Automotive Service (a family business) in Nevada. Her last job was with Nevada Daily Mail where she worked until her retirement. Alice was a longtime member of Community Christian Church. She loved her family, being with her children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Praiswater, Nevada; granddaughter, Rhawnie Praiswater, Frontenac, KS; two great-grandchildren, Kegan Rader, Alexandra Heckadon; two sisters, Sandy Grammer, Murphysboro, IL, Bea Burkey and her husband Joe, Murphysboro, IL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Eldon she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bo Wyatt, and Mack Wyatt; one sister, Betty King; and one daughter Susan Praiswater.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Matt Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center or Alzheimer’s Association in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
