From the Missouri Department of Conservation

HELPING TO PREVENT POACHING: Conservation agents and other Protection Division staff from the Kansas City Region recently hosted law enforcement officers from the area to work on cooperative enforcement on public and private lands around Truman Lake, especially pertaining to the stealing/poaching of timber (pictured) and property damage on both public and private lands. Representatives from MDC; USACE; Sheriff’s offices from Benton, Henry, and St Clair counties; and the Missouri Highway Patrol participated.

Missouri’s trees are important and valuable assets that help stabilize soil, clean water, and provide wildlife habitat. They deserve protection from poachers too!

If you see anything suspicious on public or private lands, please contact your local law enforcement agency, local conservation agent, or call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-392-1111. – Joe@MDC
