The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Pontiac Montana van driven by 17 year old Mikayla M. Whitaker of Adrian, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence. The vehicle lost both rear tires and began to overturn, coming to rest on its side.
Mikayla M. Whitaker sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by Bates County EMS to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Adrian Tow.
