The Butler Bears fell to KC Metro Academy 63-46 in the first round of the Butler Tournament Tuesday night.
The bears was led in scoring by Senior Carter Trumbore with 23 points. Sophomore Jake Chandler had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards and added 4 steals, Senior Dylan Davidson chipped in 10 points as well. Newkirk led the KC Metro Mavericks with 18 points.
An overtime thriller saw the Adrian Blackhawks victorious over the Rich Hill Tigers with a final of 75-68. In other 1st round action, St. Michael beat Nevada and Kipp defeated University Academy.
