Job responsibilities include working with the public, promoting the Butler Public Library through community interaction, planning monthly library activities for children and adults, and keeping accurate financial and circulation records. The successful candidate must have knowledge of budget preparation, administration, technology, employee supervision, and payroll management. Adaptability, diplomacy, and professional grace are desirable character traits. In general, the Director is responsible for managing the library in all areas. The Director is directly responsible to the Butler Public Library Board. The successful candidate must meet educational standards relating to Library Science.
