On July 28, a St. Clair County Sheriffs Office warrant was issued for Trent Lewis, 22, Rockville, Missouri charging him with class A misdemeanor theft his bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on July 11 when Lewis, an employee of Casey's General Store, made a safe drop with no money attached to it.
Video surveillance showed Lewis make a drop and then place the ticket and money on the drawer.
Mr. Lewis then covered up the money on the drawer with his cell phone and a few minutes later he picked up his cell phone along with the money and put it into his pocket. His drawer was short $150 for the shift.
