Obituary - Sharon Kay Barr

The Funeral Service for Sharon will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Officiating at the service will be David Hill .Visitation will precede the service from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.
  

Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri

Any memorial donations should be given to the Kansas City Pet Project, and may be left at Hill & Son Funeral Home.

Sharon Kay Barr, 72, passed away peacefully at her home at Appleton City, Missouri on July 20, 2016. She was the only daughter of Eldred T. and Frances I. (McCray) Glancias, born March 15, 1944.

She attended school in the Kansas City area and spent most of her life as a homemaker. In 2010 she married Robert Alvin Barr in Hawaii. The couple then moved from Kansas City to Appleton City in 2013, enjoying small town life together until his death.

Sharon never had two legged children, but tenderly mothered numerous creatures with four legs. Apart from her dogs, she loved knitting, participating in the Golden Apple’s club, and making trips to Sonic. Her faith remained one of the most important parts of Sharon’s life, and her regular gifts to the ministry of Jimmy Swaggart demonstrated a deep commitment to furthering the message of Christ. While Sharon had no family in the community, she nevertheless cherished time spent with friends as they played bingo, chatted, and traveled to Branson together.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Eldred and Frances; and her husband Robert. She is survived by three dogs, numerous friends, and her best friend Mary Carter. Sharon will be missed by all who knew her.
