Appleton City teen arrested in St. Clair County

On July 29, the Appleton City Police Department arrested Billy Prater, 17, Appleton City, on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and unclassified misdemeanor possession of liquor by a minor. Bond is set at $3,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from a sheriff’s office investigation in the early morning hours on July 9. 

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Prater was driving on NW H Highway, Appleton City. 

During the investigation it was determined Prater was driving while intoxicated and in the back seat of the vehicle a box containing several unopened cans of Keystone Light Beer were located.
