Drexel man injured in rural Cass County accident

On 11/18/16 around 3:12pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Drexel Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Route A just West of Lacy Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the when the 2002 Cadillac driven by 31 year old Jason L. Cook of Drexel, Missouri crossed the center line and struck the 2016 Chevrolet truck driven 45 year old Steven D. Smith of Paola, Kansas on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Mr. Cook sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment. Mr. Smith refused medical treatment at the scene of the accident.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.
