Traffic stop leads to arrest in Rich Hill

On November 10, 2016 a Deputy conducted a vehicle stop in Rich Hill, MO. The Deputy asked the driver for his driver’s license and proof of insurance. The driver stated that he did not have a valid driver’s license.

While the Deputy was speaking with the driver, the passenger exited the vehicle and tossed a small green and plaid pouch away from the truck. The small pouch contained a pipe that had white residue inside of it. The pipe field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The passenger was then taken into custody. The passenger also told the Deputy that he had a marijuana pipe inside the vehicle which the Deputy was able to obtain.

The driver of the vehicle was written a citation for driving while suspended. The passenger of the vehicle was transported to the Bates County Jail and was put on a 24 hour investigative hold. Charges are expected to be filed at a later time.
